About Us
Gunaikurnai/Gippsland based, Triple j unearthed winning folk rock/alt country duo Ally Row, are breaking the barriers of genres with toe-tapping yet emotive music. The multi-instrumentalists perform velvety harmonies alongside guitar, piano, modernised banjo, harmonica and stomp box.
Together, the two-piece band create a powerful synergy with heartfelt memorable originals that will get you dancing. For the, Mumford and Sons, Sons of the East, The 502s, Morningsiders, and Of Monsters and Men fans out there.... Ally Row are the next artists to follow. In 2023, they were the winners of the Triple J Unearthed NYE on the Hill Fest Competition, Port Fairy Folk Festival Busking Competition, Semi-Finalists in the Listen Up Music Songwriting Prize for their single ‘Bare feet’, performed at Woodford Folk Festival 23/24, NYE on the Hill Fest 23, Airlie Beach Festival of Music Passport to Airlie, Longwood Fest, Tarra Festival, East Gippsland Winter Festival, Patchewollock Music Festival and as Wodonga North East Food and Wine Fest.
In 2024, they were Semi Finalists in the International Songwriting Competition for 'Bare feet', performed at Tamworth Country Music Festival (Top 20 Busker out of 369), opened for Golden Guitar winner Fanny Lumsden, folk legend Kim Churchill and ARIA winner William Crighton and have been on ABC Country high rotation with their singles 'This Time' and 'The Great Unknown'. This year they have had a roaring start with being in the Top 10 Buskers Championship at Tamworth Country Music Festival, playing alongside Andrew Swift for 'Americana in the Park' at Tamworth Country Music Festival, as well as opened for The Bushwackers and Bryce Sainty.
